Porto Conte Sardinia: where sea meets sky

Porto Conte Sardinia: where sea meets sky

Come and see where sea meets sky in Porto Conte in Sardinia. To enjoy this unique horizon, you must reach the promontory of Punta Giglio in the Porto Conte Park near Alghero. The Porto Conte Park is a protected natural area of great geo-naturalistic importance in Italy and the Mediterranean.
The activity I propose is a medium difficulty trekking trail of about 4 hours and half during which we will cross the whole promontory. It is an itinerary of great historical-natural value for the presence of a lush Mediterranean vegetation and barracks dating back to World War II. The path follows the limestone cliff morphology. The route ends at the old military station of Punta Giglio where we will be able to visit the barracks and fortresses still intact, rest, have lunch and take beautiful photos.
For this trekking activity in Porto Conte Park you need to be pretty agile and trained to walk. You have to wear hiking shoes and long trousers because there are rocks that emerge from the ground. Bring water, snacks according to your needs and habits, and packed lunch.
At the end of this excursion around Alghero maybe you will feel a bit tired. But above all, you will be satisfied by the wonderful view you will enjoy from the promontory of Punta Giglio in Porto Conte in Sardinia. It will be one of the most beautiful memories of your holiday.

JochenElisabetta was a wonderful guide and we had an amazing hike through the macchia mediterranea above the cliffs around Punta Giglio and through the forest of the nature reserve. Elisabetta is very knowledgable and she told me about the plants and geology and history of the place. I'd love to return to Alghero and I would certainly hope to have her as a guide again.Activity VoteAutenticity of the activityIntegration with the local communityOctober 2015
