Faenza opens its doors to the world to give everyone the opportunity to get to know and experience the art of ceramics and traditional decoration directly in the workshops with patient and passionate teachers. Ceramics is the soul of Faenza, is part of its genetic heritage, whose name is synonymous (Faenza - Faïence). The nature of the land rich in clays and the geographical position have made it a meeting point between the Padana and Tuscan cultures, establishing itself as a ceramics center of primary importance since the Middle Ages. Guests can choose to immerse their hands in clay and be guided to the molding of a vase or dish, or to express their creativity with a decoration. A few steps away from the "Botteghe" is the MIC - International Museum of Ceramics, unique in the international scene, as witnessed by the Italian masterpieces of the Renaissance, the works of Picasso, Matisse, Chagall, Burri, Fontana and other countless examples of excellence. Founded in 1908, the museum preserves and promotes a heritage of over 60,000 works, both ancient and contemporary, exhibited in evocative museum spaces of over 15,000 square meters. It houses a Historical Library, containing over 60,000 texts on ceramics, a Restoration Laboratory, photographic archives and documentaries. On request I can book a visit with a licensed tour guide. "Emozioni Ceramiche" is this and much more. For example, on request, I would be happy to accompany you to taste the dishes (strictly ceramic ..) of our tradition of Romagna or know a particular way to taste pizza. The format of Experiential Tourism that I created, in collaboration with some partners between which the Ente Ceramica, is structured in modular form and allows guests to customize the experience (on request), living it by degrees and duration of different intensities. For example, for foreign guests we organize lessons of "Italian in the Bottega" and just as much for those who are Italian and want to explore other languages applied to the artistic experience they choose. 2018 is the year of Argillà Italia, the International Festival of Ceramics and Market Exhibition held every two years, in the first weekend of September. Immersed in the streets of the historic center, among the stands of the 200 international exhibitors (from over 20 countries) you can wander between art, sculpture, design, furnishing accessories, household items and fashion accessories.
