ANCIENT ROME - A Perfect Circle
ANCIENT ROME - A Perfect Circle
THIS IS JUST AN EXAMPLE. WE CAN CHANGE THE TIMETABLE AND THE ATTRACTIONS ACCORDING TO YOUR SCHEDULE, YOUR NEEDS AND YOUR INTERESTS. WE CAN ALSO CHANGE THE PRICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF TOURISTS AND THE DURATION OF THE TOUR. Our main purpose is to bring the past to life! We'll show you how ancient Roman people lived and how the main buildings of Ancient Rome looked like, letting you imagine living in that period! It's an extraordinary experience through Ancient Rome and we can't wait to show it to you!
At 8.30 a.m. we meet at Colosseum, where you can enjoy the sight of the symbol of Rome from outside, while telling you the most interesting and exciting scoops about it. We walk down Via dei Fori Imperiali, with a view over the Roman Forum and the Trajan Forum, two of the most important Forum of Ancient Rome, and we reach the Altare della Patria. But it is just to warm ourselves up, since our trip starts at the only remains of the Roman insulae, ordinary people’s houses, we have left in Rome. We see the Theatre of Marcellus, the biggest Roman theatre in Rome, and we make a little detour to Tiber Island, that is the only island along the course of the Tiber. We reach the Temple of Hercules Victor and Portuno’s Temple, two temples in another Forum of Ancient Rome, the Mouth of Truth and the public park that at the time of the Romans was home to the huge Circus Maximus. We visit the massive and well-preserved Caracalla Baths, one of the main buildings of Rome. We walk up to the Aventine Hill, where we enjoy its impressive view above Rome from the suggestive Orange Garden. We have lunch at Apuleius Restaurant, which keeps its typical structure of a "Roman House". You must try carbonara and amatriciana, the typical roman dishes! If the group is less than 3 people, we depart for Ancient Appian Way by car. This way, called "Regina Viarum" by Romans, is flanked on both sides by fields punctuated with ruins free of charge and other vestiges of Roman history. This kilometres long road can let you go back to the past. The atmosphere is unique and the area is not overcrowded. We head toward the Capitoline Hill (Campidoglio) with a wonderful view above the Roman Forum and the Colosseum. We visit the Pantheon, the most famous and interesting pagan temple of Rome. We get to Via del Corso, walking past the beautiful Column of Marcus Aurelius, and then we lead you to the famous Spanish Steps, walking through the luxurious Via dei Condotti.
