This is a 3-hour tour that covers 4 districts of the city and it’s meant to give you the chance to discover the most authentic areas of the city, walking away from the crowds and the most touristy sites of the city. This is the ideal tour if you want to get some basic knowledge about Venice and about how it was born and it is to live here nowadays. We will start the tour in Cannaregio District (northern Venice) and we will visit the Scuola Grande di S.Marco and the Venetian Pantheon; we will focus on one of the most famous natural phenomenons that affects Venice every year: the high tide and strolling around I will focus your attention on some architectural details and their meaning. We will cross the Rialto Bridge and the Rialto market (sort of farmers market where fresh fish is still sold everyday), we will get to know why fishing became so important to Venetians and we will enjoy one of the most unique panoramic views of the city’s rooftops. We will follow through the old Red light district of the city and get to know more about the construction of the city itself, focusing on its foundations. The tour will end with tasting of local cicchetti (tapas) and a glass of local wine, or with a gelato!
